The Morning/Nighttime Routine

  1. Wash your face – Using a gentle cleanser and soap-free face wash with warm water, will remove dirt and oil to give a clean skin, making your face ready for the next step. Try to lather the cleanser for more than 30 seconds for good results. Do double cleansing if you had makeup on.
  2. Eye care –  Area around your eyes is very delicate as well very thin and it is the first to show the visible signs of aging. fine lines and wrinkles are tending to appear more due to that reason. Since the skin around your eye is drier and more sensitive than other areas of your face, you need to be more gently on patting the eye cream. Use a pea-sized amount and massage around the eyes using your ring finger. Be mindful to pick a suitable product that cures your eye problem such as dark circles, wrinkles and dry spots.
  3. Moisturize well – every time you wash your face, what happens is, your skin loose its natural moisture. Therefore, you need to apply a good moisturizer in order to maintain the moisture balance that will reduce the appearance of fine lines and dry patches. Apply a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin concern and type as much you need. Apply on your face, neck and body and massage thoroughly.
  4. Apply sunscreen(only for morning routine) – Most importantly, you need to follow up with a sunscreen that has 30SPF or more. Try to re-apply every two hours.

The Bonus Tips

For face

1.Combination skin

This means, in most cases, the oily T-zone, dry cheeks. It is mostly due to hormones or genetics. Go a lightweight moisturizer that has dimethicone, a hydrating skin conditioner. Apply a hydrating mist on your cheeks for the extra moisture.

2.Big pores

Get a pore-refining cleanser and follow up with a pore-minimizing moisturizer. If you do makeup, use a pore filling primer that suits your skin type. There are primers that hydrate or illuminate. But remember, the illuminating primers can extenuate your pores.

3.Age spots

Try to use products that have kojic acid(I suggest to a patch test first on the side of your face or arm). What kojic acid does is, it blocks the skin’s tyrosinase enzyme that creates melanin.

4.Bad acne

Try moisturizers with AHAs(alpha-hydroxy acids) or BHAs(beta hydroxy acids). These will gently exfoliate the skin to revealing fresh skin over time. So that you don’t have to use harsh physical scrubs that damage your acne-prone skin

For eyes

1.Dark circles

Use a cream with caffeine or grapeseed extract to promote the blood circulation around eyes.

2.Crow’s feet

As we all know, over time the collagen production gets weak causing wrinkles. Choose a cream with amino acids and hyaluronic acid to lock the moisture and prevent dehydration.

For body
1.Dry and flaky skin

When skin loses its collagen, it becomes less elastic and starts sagging. Start using a heavy moisturizer that has glycerin, shea butter(rich in fatty acids), and vitamin E. Avoid the products that have alcohol in them.

2.Uneven skin tone

Apply a cream with Peptides(firm up elasticity), Soy or Licorice extract(lighten dark spots) and Tumeric.
